Class Dates for the Pesticide Certificate Training
We instruct classes to prepare participants for the provincial “Pesticide Certificate” examination.
Below is a list of classes offered in the B.C. Interior.

Date for Applicators in greenhouse production (special focus on cannabis production)
Additional class dates can be arranged at a private facility.
Pesticide Applicator Certificate training
(for persons who apply pesticides)
This class will be of interest to persons applying pesticides or seeking employment in the industry. The four-day class will review management of common insect, disease and weed problems. Topics covered include product labels, safe handling, legislation, practice questions for calibration, low-impact pesticides and non-pesticide methods of control. Note there are multiple certificates in this program and different classes are offered for the different certificates.
Prior to the start of the class, participants must purchase study materials in the appropriate category from the Queen’s Printer at the website https://www.crownpub.bc.ca/ (select “Categories” then “Pesticide courses”). Allow 2 full weeks for the delivery. Participants will make their own arrangement to write the provincial examination; the procedure will be explained during the first day.

Pesticide Applicator for Greenhouse production
(special focus on cannabis production)
This class will be of interest to persons working in greenhouses or seeking employment in an industry in rapid expansion.
This class will review problems caused by insects, diseases and weeds during production of cannabis, vegetables and ornamentals, either in propagation, during plant growth or at harvest. Management methods will cover cultural practice, use of beneficial insects, pesticides approved for organic and cannabis production, as well as conventional pesticides. The 3-day class will prepare participants who wish to write the provincial examination “Pesticide applicator certificate – Agriculture Greenhouse”. The optional examination will be held the morning after the last class day, cost is $90 payable to Minister of Finance. Prior to the class, participants must purchase the study material for Agriculture from the Provincial Office Products Centre at 1-800-282-7955; allow one week for delivery.
